Around two years ago, I was part of the sm0lweb kinda. Because I was tired of all the CSS and buttons and all that HTML kinda stuff, styling too much styling, too much styling. Making my own website look modern and all that. It sounds like a PITA ass to do, and I can just go by with minimal css anyways. I like minimal stuff.
I was brainwashed, and well, you know? the phase of you life when you feel like you are fucked up? That. I was going on about client-side css and all that jargon retarded shit, when another retarded person introduced me to the gemini protocol. I felt like that was almost like the thing I wanted.
I was also going on about not styling websites too much with css jargon, that led me to the gemini protocol. The protocol? is absolutely, and really damn simple. It doesn't think of to replace the web, but to sit beside it. I was also in some arguments with some other people while in the retarded mood about website styling and all, and have come to the realisation of this bullshit. I'm sorry yall.
Why gemini? Well, there is not a single valid reason to use gemini over the web or gopher. Both protocols fun it itself, but gemini? For fucking ass boring people. I've not have much fun on the geminispace to be honest. Why do I say this? you can literally think of it like this. What are you really hating? The web? HTTP? all that error codes? blah blah? don't fucking use it. It is there for those who probably want to, though it is bloated. If no one would use those, the protocol will drop those as well or your web server can just be configured to have less webshit http features.
That's it, you see? They were missing the entire point. Everyone is on the web anyways, and there is nothing really wrong with the protocol, other than their excuse that is "HTTP sucks because you can serve all that", like huh, heard about ignoring those damn websites? This is the internet, you can choose to hate whatever and make whatever, and get spat at for this bullshit whatever.
HTML is bloat? yes, it is just a markup language. You also might think that markdown is bloat. Yet there are people who minimally writes markdown, those are easier to read on the terminal? Yeah can you not do the same with HTML? Well no, here are some real ass problems that you probably know of. In HTML whatever valid markup is not really valid, stuff elements like p p p can be stacked without closing the element, and your browser will not complain. This created a whole 'nother mess. That is why, introducing, Me- I mean XHTML, strict as your mother. You are sure to be fine with it. Infact I was so into it that I wrote a gemtext to xhtml converter to put my gemini content back to the web... back... to.. the web...
You might argue about the XML tax, however I find that stupid. XML is a perfectly, very useful configuration language for applications. That is why, infact XMPP use it. when XML is done minimally and well, you can pretty much ignore the XML tax problem. Which came from some complicated projects.
Anyways, that is all, loving ASCII art, my webpages are all in entirely ASCII (7 bit). XHTML is not that hard to write by your hand, whatever I actually don't like I won't do. I hate complexity in my websites. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it is a rule that every others on the tilde site will also keep it less complicated. People are creative, let them create, and keep it minimal, keep hating on the web and live life on the sm0lweb. That's all.
If you have something to comment, really just send me that over to any of the ones in contact. Don't send me any nonsense jargon that gemini is actually great unless you are a retarded person.
