November! But it's still fucking hot... Climate change is killing us all ;-;. Nonetheless I am alright, I am doing fine. It rained some these days, the weather is kinda all over the place I guess... When is the winter even going to come?

oooh wait, I forgot to add somethings to this... I went to facebook marketplace through someone else's device to see what's up tbh, I am in great grief to see that the second hand market is in _this_ state tbh. I thought later that, I wanna sell my stuff as well, but the marketplace kinda sucks. Most people in this country either get scammed through the marketplace because of their idiocy. Wait before that I forgot to mention that EVERYONE in the seller/buyer in marketplace is a MAJOR IDIOT!!! I kinda dropped the idea of even going back to facebook marketplace completely, It honestly kinda sucks and there are malls for second hand tech out there anyways. People just sell their old devices to shops that might resell them to their customers looking for old tech anyways, it's a win win for both the person who wanted to sell their second hand device and the one who is seeking for second hand devices. The people of this country, though I'm sure it happens everywhere, that when it's a deal between person to person, there's always problems, there's always hidden stuff that goes wrong and there's always no way of knowing if the tech is in good condition without the person letting you check it. But when you buy it off a second hand store, they let you know everything about it because they tested the device a lot before selling it, or not. Maybe but idk. The second hand market is something should be greeted with more care and tbh nobody is fixing these idiots that wants device way lower than their value and not being able to find them and being frustrated. Literally everyone does it and it's harder to find someone with a good price. It also maybe because of the illiteracy of them. Which is something that has been more prideful in this era. People likes to be prideful about their illiteracy literally, which honestly makes me feel like ending myself someday. Nonetheless I hope I could do something about the second hand market here probably. I also probably need a domain for that I guess..

What I want from a shopping website really is just details of the product, when ordering anything I'd rather go and "order" like in the old days. I prefer and think that this should be the norm, which is having a frontend shopping site that just shows products, then has a link to "order" that points to having to email them. Emailing being the simplest idea. You could go further by using XMPP or even IRC, for orders if you wish. Simple as that! Unfortunately, People likes overcomplicated backends and simpler frontends and ease of use (which email is fucking "ease of use" as well you know?!). If I am to make a shopping site... which well could just be here on this site literally... I'd just do "email to order" and that's it. Having a gemini frontend kinda helps shoo off them spammers automatically. And it also helps in getting _no_ customers at all. I'd say its a great win! /j. But in all honestly I think shopping sites or people doing small businesses should always work in this fashion, emailing isn't dead and isn't going anywhere. And if it really is, you can just use something like XMPP or IRC. but never some shit like those proprietary bs, please, even emailing is better than that shit. With that I think I might just add a shop dir on the ariamath root. I don't know who will ever look at it though...

I think password managers are important but I've yet to find a simple unix way to handle passwords tbh. Currently what I do is make sure everything I do should be from my PC therefore all my passwords are stored in the `$HOME/keys` dir in plain text encrypted files. Then as I use dmenu, I made a script that when I run `passmenu` in dmenu, it opens another dmenu listing all the files in that dir. Then I just log it straight into the clipboard for 5s and in between I paste and move on. Pretty damn simple, no integration bs, just copy & paste. I have yet to share this tool with others because I don't know if I should and I don't know if this tool is something someone would prefer at all. Would be nice if you'd let me know at ``xmpp:sabr@ariamath.xyz`` !

2025-10-23 03:34

Yet again, I've been away, oh well I've been busy yet again with as you know, nothing in particular, I just merged the root of this gemsite with my stuff, users in their own dir. Because as admin I get priority obviously, my stuff is something that'll probably shoo off most ;-; Though hang on! I still am broke aren't I? :-)

2025-10-12 07:50

I've thought of a simple way to create a multi user git server. Probably the way torvalds would like it to be. Instead of virtual networks, just use normal unix users on the system. Have quotas as usual and create repos directly in _their_ home dir like `/home/user/repositories/`, then I can just symlink the dir to `/home/git/repositories/user`. This sounds much easier than handling all that gitolite bullshit, and it's also simple! Now I can just simply kind of use stagit all over again. But idk if I should... deciding between stagit and cgit is getting harder tbh... one is a CGI and another is static, and stagit has the cleanest ui here. I'm stuck with deciding for now...

2025-10-11 06:05

Ugh, I guess it is time to stop running forgejo and just use cgit or smt... or well make/find a program that converts a git repo into a gemini folder perhaps. With like README.md to index.gmi and the rest encoded with line numbers. If there's an image or a binary in the damn repo then... I have no idea. I would probably copy it over to the repo's root and add a link to it in the repo so you can view it. That's all, damn that sounds like something that would be really difficult to do, but lets see... Oh... I forgot I have to reiterate the whole worktree of files... that actually sounds painful to the point I might just yet again later on switch to cgit or stagit! ;-;

And for that reason, I'm closing my git forge frontend for now.

2025-10-09 07:00

Thinking about going back to using stagit and trying to find a good way to get readme markdown to be able to display images that exists in a repo.

Some wallpaper material I thought would be cool to share!

It has been a good solid 6 months, since I've kind of dropped my reading spree about Light Novels and Novels in general, I've downloaded a lot of them, but still yet have much to read. I just finished Alicization (from SAO) few days ago, and I don't feel like finishing Moon Cradle and reading the next 9 or so volumes yet, I want something fresh, so I picked on a different series for now named in short: Death March Rhapsody. Infact I've been recommended this by a lot of people online, I've got high expectations.

2025-10-02 00:30

A small incident at Pizza Hut. We ordered our food and beverages seperately which led them to bill them seperately or that's how it should have been. Except for the fact that they didn't even bill the beverages... I was shocked to see our 9$ worth of beverages we ordered not even on the list, 9$ is a lot here fyi and they were letting us free (by mistake) on that! but well I had to let them know this because I ain't that bad of a human being. They thanked me a lot after that :-) Happy ending!

2025-10-02 00:20

I did make a gamelog directory, but I don't really know what to put there tbh... maybe recordings of my games? Maybe that! That sounds nice!

2025-10-01 14:39

I've setup an Email server!... or not. I hate dovecot and I have no idea how does this even work. For now I'm working with reading and sending over SSH, this seems like the easiest way to handle emails. Send me some emails if you want :-)

2025-10-01 04:30

It has been raining for around 3 and a half hours now, heavy wind bringing all the water inside like crazy. The floors all wet now and its a pain to clean these stuff up first thing in the morning everytime in a rainy season.

2025-10-01 04:18

Damn... I've been inactive for a long time now. I'm sorry for not updating tbh. Although I doubt someone ever stumbling to this capsule.

2025-08-28 14:20

This email server with postfix and dovecot is too hard to figure out. I can't even understand the docs.

2025-08-27 22:23

Hmm, one of my friends from jabber/xmpp asked me if I could host a Email server on ariamath.xyz, Well if it isn't that difficult, I sure can! Hence right now I am! I will put up the service once up (not open for reg of course) at

Email Service.

I am thinking of just taming gemini at this point. The best way to represent italics in ascii that I know of is /this/ way. Well here are a few for you to know your simple writing:

To be honest underline could be done like this instead:

Underline

-------------

Don't mind me using them /more/ from now on!

2025-08-25 14:55

I am writing a book called "Algebra 1" to start the project called "Mathematics from Scratch". But beware that it is a naive writing coming from a small person with great love and passion for understanding and increasing the depth of his own philosophy.

2025-08-25 14:30

Hmm, maybe it wasn't a good idea after all. ANSI formatting is kind of making it harder to actually write stuff instead of helping, kind of making me remember HTML all over again... I guess I should stop. Do I keep the Escape codes here though? for those whoever want to see?

gemsite repo.

2025-08-25 14:00

Made some changes to this gemsite from root, added custom icons to some links. Well I think [3malmost[0m everyone uses lagrange so they will find it nice! :-)

2025-08-25 13:10

Seems like it is very much possible to do so... But after reading BBS threads about whether or not should do it seems to be on the side of:

ANSI formatting is awkward but we don't need to ban it... servers can send it and clients may display it, but they shouldn't be expected to.

Lagrange is compliant to this. Yes! This is perfect. Although some may hate me for this.

2025-08-25 12:30

Even though I like how gemtext is strict, I still believe the gemtext should have atleast supported inline formatting to the extent of italics and bolds. Like what I do right _now_. Or... **Hear me out!**. Apparently lagrange supports this though I haven't set it up yet.

2025-08-25 12:04

Oof four days of no updates here. Well nothing worth noting happened to be real, I just updated my `bstatus` and `timer` repos, fixed my rookie mistakes and all that. Right now as usual studying a C book. Trying to learn POSIX C programming as well.

2025-08-22 12:57

I have made some progress with my new (I thought of this a year ago and just started now ;-;) project of "Mathematics from scratch" Where I learn mathematics from the roots of what I believe to be mathematics. And I am currently writing a EPUB document with webtex for complex equations or graphs (not yet) and just normal italics for easier equations I've made only a tiny bit of progress but alas. I hope to finish this first book "Introduction to Mathematics" by the end of this month and publish the first version 0.0.1 which is very soon.

2025-08-22 02:00

Don't ask me why I am awake, just enjoying the calm passing of time beside my window with the rain pouring, me typing on my keyboard talking about your friendly neighborhood tech problems.

2025-08-21 23:02

I was thinking about writing mathematical documents right inside the gemini space, with how simple it is to view and not having to use a web browser. But then I thought If I were to draw content for the equations or graphs, would be quite a headache because lagrange doesn't support SVGs, or so I think. I will give it a try!

2025-08-21 20:53

Am a bit late on updating this, but I ditched cgit + gitolite setup completely with forgejo, to save my time with handling all the weird bs that I don't really want to. But sheesh Forgejo uses a /lot/ of resources! (~200M of RES, infact)

2025-08-21 12:15

I wonder what I am doing, really.
