After ditching my VPS for a homelab, everything just became easier than before. I can just now log on to my homelab and just keep on writing anything over here, rather than going an rsyncing the entire thing everytime. This is because my previous VPS was all the way over at America and latency was around 300ms (ouch!). Now I'm chilling with latency <10ms B-). I also just copied over my neovim config over so it just feels the same.
I've setup a XMPP and GIT(Forgejo) server as before, just that now XMPP connects faster, syncs faster and I can just call others faster than just calling normally, which tbh I've just also ditched because of SSO.
This might be out of topic here, but I also kind of nuked receiving SMS and Calls on phone. It was simple: Just used adb and boom!.. I mean yeah, you'll never connect with me if you don't call me through my
handle... yeah. But, don't expect me to accept calls from random people probably... but you can try :-).
I'll probably add a Jellyfin server. I tried Wireguard today and failed... for some reason... the reason I don't even know, networking is like that. I'm still learning networking... always will keep on doing that because networking is always changing.
I've actually setup email on my server... although its only through SSH, because that's the suckless way to read and send emails :-). Well gmail fucking hates me though :-) (All emails fucking blocked!) I fucking hate gmail, I want to end gmail, I want to end them, I want to end-... Well I cannot do that though yeah can I? These shitty companies will be alive till the day I die.
Nonetheless, emails are done the SSH way, meaning you need to be a UNIX user on my server. np, once you join ariamath.xyz, you can have a XMPP, GIT forge, Email, Gemsite... and more things to come. All with simplicity... err.. except the git forge. I mean I really wanted to use something like cgit or stagit. I really did try stagit+gitolite just 2 days ago. but It is not really good for multi user git forge. Forgejo handles all of these and saves me a lot of hassle.
