This is a pubnix, Public Unix server hosted in Pluto, the great old
and enhanced Earth (It is real, trust me). This Public Unix server
serves, git, http and smtp (web and email). You start off with 128 MiB
of storage, you will get more storage (upper quota) as you stay. You
can ask for temporary 10-20 GiB storages for a week for any kind of
sharing task. You can even host your own services if it falls under
the limits assigned by ulimit(2) on the server.
Hello, weird update after that previous paragraph that was here. I am
not hosting a server on my PC for a few reasons, mainly because I am
afraid of the electric bill that's gonna pop up. Honestly I'm kinda
reconsidering my ideals and philosophy about how a server should be
and that this is 2026, and not the 90s so like most people don't have
the restraint of local compilation even with tech from the 2010 - 2015
and stuff. Even those are bearable to use gentoo on even, compilation
times take longer but that's how it is anyways. Centralising computations
on a server seems fine but then again, decentralised computation is
always preferred (JS is a bad example but then again its the most relatable
example) and now that tech is at that level. I think my philosophy was
kinda wrong and that I should probably just something like a SBC like Pi
Zero even as my Pubnix server. And about hosting game servers ngl, I am
not sure to be honest, I'd probably do host a minecraft server, but probably
not 24/7, instead at a certain time period of the day where I am active the
most. Which is also the time most of other people I know are active as well.
